A volcano is like a big mountain that can sometimes act like a giant soda bottle. You know when you shake a soda bottle, and it fizzes up and bursts out? Inside a volcano, there is something called magma, which is super hot, melted rock. It’s like the fizz inside the soda. When the volcano gets too full and the pressure builds up, it erupts, and the magma shoots out, just like the soda does. When the magma comes out and cools down, it becomes lava.

Think of a volcano as a giant cake with layers. The top layer is the crust, just like the frosting on a cake. Underneath, there are different layers of rock and magma. Sometimes, the magma wants to come out, so it finds a crack in the crust, just like when you cut a slice of cake. The magma oozes out like gooey chocolate filling.

Volcanoes are like sleeping dragons. They stay quiet for a long time, but when they wake up, they roar and spit fire and ash into the sky. These fiery dragons are both beautiful and powerful, making new land and sometimes causing big changes.
