Traffic is like a big, colorful parade of cars, buses, and trucks moving along the roads. Just like a parade needs to follow a path and sometimes stop to let people cross or other floats go by, traffic follows rules to keep everyone safe. When you see red, yellow, and green lights, it’s like the conductor of the parade telling everyone when to stop, slow down, or go.
Think of traffic as a river of vehicles. Just like water flows in a river, cars flow on the roads. Sometimes the river is calm and moves smoothly, which is like when there’s not much traffic. Other times, too many cars try to fit on the road at once, like a river getting blocked by rocks, and it slows down or stops, which is called a traffic jam.
Traffic can also be compared to a busy playground where everyone wants to play on the swings, slides, and seesaws. But, to have fun and not bump into each other, they take turns and wait patiently. Cars, buses, and trucks on the road take turns too, using lanes and signals to move safely.
