swallow
Swallow is like a little slide inside your body. When you eat or drink, the food or drink goes down this slide from your mouth to your tummy. Imagine it like a water park, where the water (or food) goes down the slide into the pool (your tummy). Your tongue helps push the food to the back of your mouth, and then your throat muscles give it a gentle push down the slide.
Think of swallowing like a mail delivery system. Your mouth is the mailbox where you put letters (food), and when you swallow, it’s like sending the mail down a chute to the post office (your stomach). The mail (food) needs to be packed just right, not too big, and not too small, so it can travel safely.
Swallowing is also like a train journey. The food is the passengers, and your mouth is the train station. When the train (your throat) is ready, the passengers (food) board the train, and the train takes them to their destination, your tummy, safely and smoothly.
