stretch
Stretch is like when you take a rubber band and pull it so it gets longer. Stretching means making something longer or bigger by pulling it. Your body can stretch too! When you wake up and reach your arms up high, you are stretching your muscles. It’s like giving them a big, gentle hug to wake them up.
Imagine a piece of bubble gum. When you chew it, it becomes soft, and you can pull it to make a long, thin string. That’s stretching the gum. Our bodies can do something similar. When you touch your toes, your back and legs get a nice stretch, just like the gum.
Think of a cat. Have you seen how they stretch when they wake up? They push their front paws forward and arch their back. This helps them feel good and ready to play. Stretching helps us feel good, too, because it makes our muscles happy and ready to move.
Stretching is like a balloon. When you blow air into it, it gets bigger and bigger. But you have to be gentle, or it might pop. Stretching our bodies works the same way. We do it slowly and carefully to keep everything safe and feeling nice.
