pattern
A pattern is like a secret code that repeats itself, making things look nice and organized. Imagine you have a row of blocks. If you have a red block, a blue block, and a green block, and then you see the same colors again in the same order, that’s a pattern! Patterns help us know what might come next, like when you listen to your favorite song and know when the chorus will play.
Another way to think about a pattern is like a dance. When you dance, you might do a step, a jump, and a clap. If you keep doing the same step, jump, and clap over and over, that’s a pattern. Patterns make dances fun because we can learn the moves and dance together without getting lost.
Patterns can also be found in nature. Look at a zebra. Its stripes are a pattern of black and white. Or think about a honeycomb in a beehive. The little hexagons fit together in a pattern to make the hive strong. Patterns help things work well and look pretty at the same time.
