multiply
Multiply is like a magic trick with numbers. Imagine you have a group of toys, like cars or dolls. When you multiply, it’s like having more and more groups of those toys. If you have 2 groups of 3 cars, you end up with 6 cars in total. It’s a quick way to add the same number over and over again.
Think of multiplication as a party. If you invite 3 friends and each friend brings 2 balloons, you don’t count each balloon one by one. You multiply 3 friends by 2 balloons each, and suddenly you have 6 balloons. Multiplication helps you see how many things you have in total, without having to count each one separately.
Picture multiplication as building blocks. You have a small tower of 4 blocks, and you want to make 3 towers that look just the same. You multiply 4 blocks by 3 towers, and you have 12 blocks altogether. It’s a neat way to see how things grow bigger by repeating the same size over and over.
