miserable
Being miserable is like when your favorite toy breaks, and you feel really, really sad and maybe even a little angry. It’s a big feeling that makes your heart feel heavy, like carrying a big backpack full of rocks. Sometimes, when you’re miserable, it feels like there’s a big, dark cloud over your head, and it’s hard to feel happy or smile.
Imagine a day at the beach where the sun is hiding behind clouds, and all you want to do is play in the sand, but it’s too rainy. That feeling of wanting to have fun but not being able to is a little like being miserable.
Or think about when you really want to eat your favorite ice cream, but it melts and falls on the ground. The disappointment and sadness you feel is a bit like being miserable. But just like when the sun comes out again or you get a new ice cream cone, the feeling of being miserable can go away too. It’s okay to feel this way sometimes, and talking to someone can help you feel better.
