When you think about ‘drop’, picture a ball falling from your hand. It starts high up, and then it goes down, down, down until it hits the ground. That’s a drop! The ball was up high, and then it went down, just like when you let go of something and it falls.
Another way to think about ‘drop’ is like when you have a cup of water and you tilt it a little. Some water might spill out, and those little bits of water are called drops. They fall from the cup to the table, making a tiny splash. So, a drop can be something that falls, just like those little bits of water.
Imagine you’re holding a leaf and you let it go. The leaf drifts down slowly to the ground. That’s also a drop! Even though the leaf moves slowly, it’s still dropping from your hand to the ground.
Lastly, think about when you have a balloon and you let it go. The balloon floats up, but when it loses air, it comes back down. When it comes down, we say it drops. So, a drop can mean something moving from a higher place to a lower place.
