A clock is like a special friend that helps us know what part of the day it is. It has two or three hands that move around in a circle. The short hand is called the hour hand and it tells us which hour it is. The long hand is the minute hand and it tells us how many minutes have passed in that hour. Sometimes there’s a super fast hand called the second hand.
Think of a clock as a round playground where the hands are like kids playing tag. The hour hand moves slowly, like a kid who is tired. The minute hand is faster, like a kid who has a little more energy. The second hand zooms around quickly, like a kid who just had a lot of candy!
A clock is also like a storybook with numbers from 1 to 12. Each number tells a part of the day’s story. When the hour hand points to a number, that’s the chapter we are in. The minute hand tells us how far we are in that chapter. Isn’t it fun to read the time story together?
