When someone ‘brags’, it’s like they have a shiny, colorful balloon that they want everyone to see. They hold it up high and say, ‘Look at my balloon! It’s the best balloon ever!’ Even if other people have balloons too, the person who is bragging wants everyone to think theirs is the best. Sometimes, they talk about their balloon so much that others might feel a little sad because they don’t have a balloon just like it.
Bragging can also be like when you have a super yummy cookie, and you tell everyone, ‘I have the yummiest cookie in the whole wide world!’ You might really like your cookie, but saying it too much can make others feel like their cookies are not as good, even if they are just as tasty.
Imagine a peacock with its big, colorful feathers. When it shows off its feathers, it’s like bragging. The peacock wants everyone to look at how beautiful it is. But sometimes, it’s nice to let others show their feathers too, and not just focus on our own. Sharing and being kind is better than bragging.
